The Role


============


The Community Hub Project is an initiative to provide free and sustainably sourced food and clothing to students on campus. It is a brand-new project as part of Sheffield Students' Union with 1 year of funding guaranteed. The Community Hub Project Coordinator will lead the day-to-day operation of the hub, ensuring students can access free food in a supportive environment. This role plays a key part in supporting student wellbeing, building community, and working in partnership with students, staff, volunteers, and external organisations. This involves supporting student enquiries, maintaining the health and safety standards of the hub, championing a welcoming and exciting environment for students, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The role holder will also influence the growth of the project, adapting the service to meet varying student needs throughout the academic year.


Reporting to the Director of Social Enterprise, the role holder will also work closely with the Sustainability and Development Officer and student volunteers.


We are looking for someone with experience working with students or young people to provide an excellent service to students based around kindness, inclusivity and community connection. Experience working within charities, food provision, and community kitchens is desirable, alongside knowledge of student welfare issues and sustainability. In particular we are looking for an individual with a passion for making a difference within the student community through a supportive and welcoming role in the union.

Specific Hours:

35 hours per week, 35 weeks per year (term time) (0.67 FTE) although open to flexible working requests such as Part-Time hours or Job Shares where possible.
