Role Overview:
The Events Team are a busy, creative, tight knit group of vibrant professionals who are looking for someone to join the team who pride themselves in 5 start customer service and going the extra mile for their clients. In the Events Team we celebrate creative problem solving, autonomy and integrity in our approach to work.
Reporting to the Community Venues Manager, the Community Hub Duty Manager will lead on the delivery and logistics of the programme that runs at Open Door Community Centre located in Keevil Drive, Southfields.
The role is focused on being the main point of contact leading on the engagement with the community, ensuring the safety of the public that visit over the 3 days where the venue is open to the public, and leading on additional activations in school holidays as separate events.
The successful candidate will make up the third person in the Community Venues team who will be there on a rota system to oversee and support the successful candidate within the venue on Hub days.
The role is advertised as a 20 hour per week fixed term contract to commence from May 2025 - December 2025.
The Community Hub Duty Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that health and safety procedures are adhered to when on site and will be tasked with setting up venues for smaller events and overseeing suppliers as they rig and derig equipment on event days.

Main Responsibilities:
Overseeing the set up and break down of the wide variety of events
Onsite event delivery to include but not limited to customer service, organizing suppliers, adhering to health and safety guidelines and guest management.
Being the key contact on the day
Having a comprehensive knowledge of the venue including any restrictions, rules or limitations and can communicate these to clients, guests and suppliers
Effectively communicating event handovers
Liaising with suppliers including availability checks, circulating briefings and schedules and general information enquiries.
Attend weekly briefings lead by Community Venues Manager
Creating comprehensive end-of-day reports after each event to feed back to management.
Act as first aid and fire marshal (training will be provided)
Ensuring the Enable events building is presentable and fit for purpose both pre and post events, by managing the day-to-day duties including cleaning, raising any health and safety concerns and reporting any maintenance issues to the Events Operations and Venues Manager.
Carrying out regular inventory checks on equipment and reporting any damages
Managing all storage areas, ensuring they are well organized and tidy.
Ensuring they presentable and motivated to provide 5-star customer service and going the extra mile for all of our guests. Providing all staff with the knowledge to be able to confidently market and promote our services and events.
To ensure consistent up to date information is displayed throughout the building and that the Enable brand is always presented professionally and clearly
Ensuring all customer-related complaints, incidents and accidents are logged and reported to management
Skills and experience
Proven experience of event management
Confidence to work independently and lead from the front
Experience with dealing with the public and confidence to engage and signpost to services.
A level of maturity and empathy is needed for this role to continue the growth and success of the community programme.
Experience of managing and liaising with suppliers
Passion for creating and delivering unforgettable events
Exceptionally high standards of customer service, attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with senior management, other staff, clients and members of the public
Hands on/ proactive attitude on-site and pride yourself on going the extra mile to create the best event possible
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
Hold a full manual UK driving license (preferred but not essential)
Personal License Holder (preferred but not essential)
Any appropriate Health & Safety qualifications (Training will be provided)
