Job Introduction
The Approved Mental Health Professionals team is a group of trained specialists who work together to help people experiencing serious mental health crises. Their main job is to assess individuals who may need to be detained under the Mental Health Act for their own safety or the safety of others. This process includes evaluating a person's mental state, speaking with their family or carers, and working closely with medical professionals.
The team makes tough decisions aimed to get people the right treatment and support as quickly as possible. They are compassionate and skilled at handling sensitive situations, ensuring that people in crisis receive the appropriate care and protection.
We're now recruiting a Customer Liaison Officer to join the team and act as a reassuring and supportive point of contact for the families and carers of people in crisis.
You'll be a vital part of the team as you'll help to ensure the service runs smoothly day to day and will support the referral process and other arrangements and processes necessary for Mental Health Act assessments.
The team is based in the Eaglestone Health Centre on the Milton Keynes University Hospital site. Previous professional mental health related experience is desirable.
