CommonAI CIC is a non-profit membership organisation, founded on a belief in collaborative engineering for the safe and responsible development of foundational AI technologies. A place where AI startups, enterprises large and small, public sector bodies and academia can share resources and knowledge, to codevelop and grow businesses, fast.


We are seeking a highly motivated and engaging Community Manager to be the heart of the CommonAI member network. You will be instrumental in cultivating strong relationships with our members, fostering a vibrant and collaborative community, and amplifying CommonAI's mission and impact. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for technology.


Your responsibilities will include:

Member Relationship Management: + Serve as the primary point of contact for our members, building rapport and understanding their needs and goals. + Proactively engage with members to encourage participation in community initiatives and facilitate connections between them.
+ Gather feedback from members to continuously improve our offerings and the overall community experience.
+ Onboard new members, ensuring they feel welcomed and have the resources they need to succeed within the CommonAI ecosystem.
Event Planning and Execution: + Conceptualise, plan, and execute a diverse range of online and in-person events, including workshops, networking sessions, hackathons, and meetups, that cater to the interests and needs of our members. + Manage all logistical aspects of events, including venue booking, speaker coordination, marketing, and on-site support.
+ Evaluate the success of events and identify opportunities for improvement.
Communications Coordination: + Craft compelling and informative content for various communication channels, including email newsletters, community forums, and website updates. + Ensure consistent and timely communication of important announcements, resources, and opportunities.
Social Media Management: + Develop and execute a social media strategy to build brand awareness, engage with the wider AI and open source community, and promote CommonAI's activities and achievements. + Create engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms.
+ Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and foster positive online interactions.
+ Track and analyse social media performance to optimise engagement and reach.

Requirements




The ideal candidate will have:

A passion for community building, with a particular interest in supporting technology start-ups and fostering collaboration across organisational boundaries. A good understanding of open source development principles and the AI technology ecosystem. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging and informative content. Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a natural ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Experience in planning and executing successful events, both online and in-person. Proficiency in managing social media platforms and utilizing social media management tools.
