Job Description

The Community Midwife plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based midwifery care to women, birthing people, and their babies during their pregnancy, from booking and antenatal care, through labour and birth, to postnatal support. The Community Midwife acts as an advocate and educator, ensuring culturally sensitive, person-centred care that promotes optimal health outcomes. Medway Maternity Services support approximately 5,000 women and babies per annum. We are forward thinking with motivated midwives, obstetricians and support teams, who strive to improve the quality of the service that we offer to our women, their babies and their families.

We have achieved and sustained Baby Friendly Initiative Stage 3; won national awards including the RCM Team of the year in 2019 and provide a variety of professional development opportunities for all levels of staff. If you are a registered band 6 midwife, or within 4 months of completing a preceptorship programme, and have experience of working within the NHS, we will welcome your application.
