2. OVERVIEW OF THE CLUB/ORGANISATION
Shildon AFC is an ambitious and progressive semi-professional Club whose vision is "to inspire people to be the best they can be". Through our Community Interest Company (CIC), we aim to provide a service to our local community and work with local schools, colleges, community groups, health groups in delivering a wide range of programmes which we hope will make a difference to people's lives.
We are currently installing a FIFA Quality 3G pitch which we hope will become an asset for our entire community. This will be transformational for the Club and give us much greater reach into our community.
3. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Employed by our CIC, who will operate the 3G facility, the successful candidate will oversee our community programmes with the 3G pitch being integral to our community delivery. The Community Officer will help maximise the use of the 3G pitch, working with a range of stakeholders to drive forward our community health and well-being programmes.

4. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Booking Administration
Oversee and coordinate all facility bookings, ensuring pitch availability, scheduling accuracy, and timely confirmations for clients and teams.
Customer Service & Liaison
Serve as the primary point of contact for enquiries, providing excellent support to community users, sports clubs, schools, and corporate clients.
System Management
Maintain and update the online booking platform or scheduling software, ensuring accurate records and payment tracking.
Operational Coordination
Manage the delivery of sessions on the 3G facility, Community Garden and associated Clubhouse and office space ensuring an excellent experience for all of our customers and partners.
Liaise with ground staff and maintenance teams to ensure the pitch is prepared and safe for use, factoring in weather conditions.
Promotion & Community Engagement
Support marketing efforts to promote the facility to local teams and community groups, helping to maximise occupancy and revenue.
Engage with key stakeholders and to represent the CIC on relevant committees and boards.
Represent the Club on steering groups with Club Partners and Durham County FA.
Issue Resolution & Reporting
Handle booking conflicts, cancellations, or incidents professionally, and compile regular usage and performance reports for management.
Provide leadership to staff and volunteers working collaboratively across the entire Club.
Report to the CIC Board and Club's main board.
Other Responsibilities
The postholder may be required to carry out other duties that are consistent with the scope and level of responsibility of the role. These additional responsibilities will be agreed upon in consultation with the Community Interest Company (CIC) as operational needs evolve.

Appropriate qualification in Sport - Desirable
Leadership and Management qualification - Desirable
Experience of sourcing and writing funding bids - Desirable
Up to date Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications- Essential
Strong interpersonal skills - Essential
Excellent planning, organisational and time planning skills- Essential
Marketing, social media experience - Desirable
Competent IT skills - Essential
Ability to work under own initiative- Essential

7. ANNUAL LEAVE / PENSION
Employees are entitled to a minimum of 28 days paid annual leave per year, inclusive of public holidays, based on a full-time working pattern (5.6 weeks). Part-time employees receive a pro-rata entitlement. In addition, the role includes access to a workplace pension scheme in line with auto-enrolment legislation, with both employer and employee contributions made in accordance with statutory requirements. Enhanced benefits may be offered at the employer's discretion.
