First Kick Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving physical and mental wellbeing through accessible sport, health, and enrichment programmes. We work with children, young people, and families across Preston and the wider North West -- delivering school-based sport, HAF holiday provision, and targeted community initiatives that create real impact.

Role Overview



As a Community Outreach Coach, you will play a vital role in delivering structured sports-based sessions, outreach work within the community that promote physical, social, emotional development as well as supporting young people to make positive decision within the community. Your work will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where young people can thrive, make positive decisions, and integrate into their communities.

This role is 100% face-to-face delivery and requires a hands-on, energetic, and proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and lead structured sports and physical activity sessions tailored to various age groups and abilities.

Conduct outreach work, building strong relationships with at-risk young people, directing them to services, and integrating them into their community.

Engage with young people, building trust to support their personal growth.

Promote participation and positive behaviour, ensuring activities are enjoyable and inclusive for all.

Maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to safeguarding, health & safety, and behavioural policies.

Collaborate with coaches, youth workers, volunteers, and external organisations as part of a team.

Encourage healthy lifestyles and teamwork through engaging activities.

Person Specification



Essential:



Experience in facilitating activities for young people in schools, community spaces, or youth settings.

Background in detached youth work.

Ability to engage, inspire, and motivate young people through sport and physical activity.

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Passion for nurturing children's confidence, skills, and teamwork.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Desirable:



A recognised qualification in Youth Work.

A Level 1 or 2 coaching certification in football, multi-sports, or a related field.

Certified First Aid training. Experience supporting young people with additional needs or challenging behaviours. A minimum of six months' experience in community engagement.
