We have an exciting new opportunity for a Consultant Community Paediatrician to work with us at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust.
The post holder will be based in one of the three child development centres in West Hertfordshire. It is currently envisaged to be at St Albans Health and Wellbeing Centre, St Albans.
The responsibilities will include assessments of children with neuro-disabilities, neurodevelopment, autism, safeguarding children, looked after children, school health and special educational needs, teaching, and training within community paediatric service. The post holder will have responsibilities for taking the lead on clinical supervision of registrars based at St Albans Health and Wellbeing Centre and audit lead.
Your key duties will be to:
Conducting thorough assessments and examinations of children and adolescents to evaluate their physical health, growth, development, and emotional well-being. They diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions affecting children.
Can demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to the Higher Specialist Paediatric Training
Willing to work and make decisions on their own.
Good communication skills, including communicating bad news.
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
Knowledge of risk management, annual job planning, appraisal review process, etc
Evidence of participation in clinical audit/QI project and or understanding the role of these in improving the medical practice
Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence, to improve clinical outcomes
