We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. The Pharmacy Dispenser will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Duties
Accurately dispense medications in accordance with prescriptions and established protocols.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and educating patients about their medications.
Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient intake.
Utilize aseptic techniques for IV infusion preparation and administration.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care in acute care settings.
Assist in managing inventory and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy practices relevant to long-term care (LTC) settings.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance pharmacy technician skills.
Experience
Previous experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is highly desirable.
Critical care experience is a plus, particularly in acute care environments.
Familiarity with medication administration processes and aseptic techniques is essential.
Experience as a pharmacy technician or similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
