Job Description

We are looking for a thoughtful, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the friendly Stroke team. The role would suit an experienced band 5 Physiotherapist ideally with Stroke / Neurology, community experience looking to develop and specialise in Stroke.



As a community Physiotherapist you will be working with the Stroke Team, assessing and treating patients providing a high standard of care and physiotherapy services to patients with diverse and sometimes complex conditions in their usual place of residence. Because the patients are community based it is essential to have a car and driving licence for the UK.



You will be responsible for providing specialised physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to an independent caseload, working closely with colleagues in this multi-disciplinary team and supported by senior Physiotherapists.

As a Community Physiotherapist, you will have access to supportive supervision and peer review from a well-established team of Physiotherapists. Within this role you will:



Perform comprehensive physiotherapy assessment of patients with diverse presentations, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment



Formulate and deliver specialist individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice



Formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention



Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes if required



To provide line management, supervision, support, guidance and training to junior staff and students
