The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom's national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Project Officer to join the Community Engagement team on a fixed term contract until April 2027. Reporting to the Head of Learning and Participation, the successful applicant will support the development and delivery of a series of programmes exploring the impact of the Royal Armouries' collection on those who have lived experience of the consequences that arise from the use of weapons today.
Working with colleagues from across the organisation, as well as external partners, the Community Project Officer will engage a variety of groups, such as military veterans, refugee and asylum seekers and victims of knife crime, to co-produce a range of outputs both in the community and at the museum.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.
Hours
This position is a fixed term contract, working full time, 36 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Some evening and weekend working will be required, as will some travel.
The role will be hybrid with some presence required in the Leeds office, as well as locations across the West Yorkshire region.
