As a Community Recovery Worker, you will support individuals affected by substance use, helping them take positive steps forward while also offering guidance to their families and loved ones.


This is a role that gets you out and about, meeting people in their own homes, community venues, and sometimes travelling between appointments, which is why a full driving licence is essential.

What you will be doing

Managing your own caseload, delivering tailored interventions, and helping people build the skills and confidence to reach their goals. Working alongside other agencies to make sure every client receives the right support at the right time. Encouraging choice, independence, and a better quality of life for those you work with. Keeping accurate, high-quality records and sharing insights in meetings and reviews.

What you will bring

Experience in the substance use field and knowledge of CRAFT. Strong communication and empathy skills, with a non-judgemental approach. Basic IT skills and the ability to manage your own workload. A full driving licence and the flexibility to travel as part of your role.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
