This is an exciting opportunity to join Runnymede Borough Council as we continue our positive work in Community Safety. As the Community Safety Officer, you will:
Have good knowledge of Community Safety, both locally and nationally and an understanding of the responsibilities of the Council.
Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written as the role will require the development of close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the Police.
Work with members of the public in resolving challenging situations, therefore experience of working in a customer facing environment is essential along with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to be flexible and diplomatic.
Represent the Council at relevant meetings so the ability to write and present reports utilising good and effective computer skills is essential.
Work well on your own initiative and as a team.
Have excellent organisational skills to plan your workload and meet deadlines.
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to obtain clearance through an enhanced vetting process - Non Police Personal Vetting (NPPV2) and will need to hold a valid driving licence with access to a vehicle ensured for business use.

About You
We are looking for an individual to join our team who has knowledge and experience in the field of Community Safety or similar (such as Antisocial Behaviour). We are looking for exceptional candidates with a range of skills including:
Knowledge of Community Safety and the responsibilities of the Council and Community Safety Partnership.
Knowledge of handling sensitive information and data in accordance with GDPR
Experience of working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders (such as Police or other agencies involved with Community Safety work).
Experience of dealing with members of the public to resolve challenging situation.
Able to maintain good relationships with, and work alongside, team members and partner organisations.
Good and effective written and verbal communication skills, including presenting information clearly, concisely, accurately and objectively.
Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office functions.
