District Enforcement Ltd is a leading provider of specialist services to local authorities across the UK. We are currently recruiting a Community Safety Warden to support our partnership with Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and businesses.
This is a highly visible, community-facing role that plays a vital part in promoting responsible behaviour, reducing anti-social behaviour, and enforcing legislation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct proactive, high-visibility patrols in designated areas including parks and town centres
Provide a reassuring presence to the public, offering advice and guidance in a polite and professional manner.
Monitor and respond to incidents of anti-social behaviour.
Accurately record incidents, ASB Incidents, and patrol activity using mobile devices and reporting systems.
Liaise effectively with local authority teams, police, and other partner agencies to address ongoing issues and provide intelligence-led support.
Promote community safety initiatives and participate in local engagement campaigns as required.
Person Specification
Essential:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively and respectfully with the public.
A calm, confident, and professional approach to managing conflict and challenging behaviour.
A genuine interest in community safety, public service, and environmental standards.
Able to work independently and as part of a team in a physically active, outdoor role.
High standards of personal integrity, reliability, and accountability.
Willingness to work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
Desirable:
Previous experience in enforcement, security, customer service, community safety, or a similar public-facing role.
Understanding of local authority enforcement procedures and relevant legislation
SIA Door Supervisor License (Desirable, but not essential)
Full UK driving licence (Desirable, but not essential)
