The Community Social Media Specialist will sit within the Marketing Department and be the voice and presence of Highland Broadband across online community groups and owned social channels. You will be responsible for owning our presence in online community spaces and accountable for all social content and communication.


A key part of this role will be leveraging local community Facebook groups to drive awareness and engagement, build relationships, and generate leads and sales. You will also own the brand's social media channels, create and share compelling content, help manage customer interactions online, and deliver valuable consumer insights and performance reports back to the business.

Key Responsibilities





Community Engagement



Build brand trust and recognition by actively and consistently engaging across local online community groups and owned channels. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure customer queries, comments, and messages are responded to in a timely and proactive manner.




Content Creation & Planning



Develop and maintain monthly content calendars to proactively plan, create and schedule content. Maintain a consistent online presence, increase brand visibility and consumer trust through frequent, relevant, and engaging content. Work closely with internal stakeholders to support commercial campaigns and customer facing communications through social first content.




Social Listening



Monitor online conversations, track brand sentiment and gather consumer feedback and insights to help inform marketing, communication and content strategies.




Reporting



Provide weekly updates and monthly reports capturing reach and engagement performance and sales and leads generations. Suggest actionable recommendations backed by insights to continuously improve content creation and community engagement.

What you will need to succeed:




You will need proven experience of managing social media and/or digital community engagement in a commercial environment and:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to create compelling and engaging content and copy tailored to local communities. An Analytical mindset with an understanding of reporting on social performance metrics and KPIs Results orientated and able to demonstrate success managing or growing a brand or local presence through social media engagement. Commercially aware with a strong understanding of social media platforms (especially Facebook and Instagram), how to leverage them to drive outcomes and to garner consumer feedback. Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
