Role Purpose
The Community Support Supervisor is an exciting new role for us. Our charity is in its 30th anniversary and this milestone brings with it this new opportunity to work directly with our fabulous clients and make a positive impact to their stories.
Not only will you be supporting the Registered Manager with the care and support we provide to our clients, staff and volunteers, but this role may draw on your experiences working in a business environment, as you will also have the opportunity to work with our Business Manager, providing essential business and administrative support to our Board of Trustees.
The key purpose of the role will be to support our clients in their homes and other settings as well as provide office administration support at our office base in Porthcawl.
The role will include participation in the out of hours on call support rota, together with other colleagues. We will discuss this and the opportunity for flexible working with you at interview.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support
Working alongside the Registered Manager, carry out and supervise client care visits, risk and needs assessments in clients' homes and in other settings.
Work in partnership with clients, their family, carers, advocates, healthcare professionals and others to ensure individual care support.
Provide direct client care cover as and when necessary. Occasional support assisting with the electronic rota system.
Staff Support
Working alongside the Registered Manager, supervise staff carrying out supervisions/spot checks and ensuring staff compliance.
Supporting with recruitment and staff induction, attending local job fayres.
Responsible for archiving client and staff information.
Finance & Administration
Occasional support to the Business Manager to include the preparation of papers and minute-taking for the Board of Trustees meetings.
Support the Business Manager in the compliance filings to the Charity Commission, Companies House and other regulators.
Assist with contract and document management, ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and stored correctly.
Assist with basic finance tasks (e.g. raising purchase orders, tracking invoices, reconciling petty cash or expenses etc).
Communications & Coordination
Help organise fundraising, client and staff events, as directed by the Business Manager.
Assist with the preparation of communications campaigns, publicity material and social media content.
Person Specification
Essential:
Hold, or be working towards, minimum QCF/NVQ level 3 qualification in health and social care.
Understanding of CIW assessment criteria for Good and Outstanding scores.
Proven administrative or business support experience, preferably in the health, social care or public sectors
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and cloud-based systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Discreet and professional when handling sensitive and confidential information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a Driver with your own vehicle, with Business Insurance.
Registered with Social Care Wales.
Desirable:
Familiarity with charity governance, finance or HR processes.
Understanding of GDPR and/or data protection best practice.
Welsh language skills (desirable but not essential).
