About the Role:
As a Community Support Worker, you will provide tailored, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities in their own homes and out in the community. Your key responsibilities will include:
Promoting Independence: Supporting individuals with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and managing appointments.
Community Inclusion: Facilitating access to and participation in social events, leisure activities, education, and employment opportunities within their local community. This might involve accompanying individuals to clubs, classes, volunteer placements, or social gatherings.
Building Relationships: Fostering positive relationships with the individuals you support, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
Advocacy: Championing the rights and choices of the individuals you support, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
Health and Wellbeing: Supporting individuals to make positive choices about their health, including diet, exercise, and attending health appointments.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate and factual records of support provided, progress, and any incidents.
About You:

Essential Requirements:
Ability to Travel: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with appropriate business insurance is essential, as this role involves supporting individuals in various community locations and potentially across different sites.
Right to Work in the UK.
Satisfactory enhanced DBS check with Adults barred list check (or willingness to obtain one).
Previous experience in social care or working with individuals with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
