We are looking for support workers that are passionate, flexible and love supporting young people.

You will be working within activity groups for different age ranges and providing support to children and young people on a 1:1 basis evenings and weekends.

Our aim is to support and encourage children to improve their social skills and become more independent.

Your role would be crucial in making sure children with disabilities have access to quality play and leisure opportunities.

Hours of working would be casual initially, but after training you will have guaranteed weekly hours. The timings of the sessions would be mainly be after-school/evenings and weekends during the term time and during the week in school holidays and weekends; hours are flexible and can fit around other commitments you have.

Essential Criteria:



- Have experience of working with children aged 0 to 19, with a range of disabilities and complexity of needs.

- Full driving license and access to own car.

- Hold a relevant qualification or considerable relevant experience with in the field.

- Have a current Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS certificate.

- Be an excellent communicator, with good written record-keeping skills, as you will be required to write short session reports and monitor progress.

- Have the capacity to think on your feet and stay calm in stressful situations, a strong work ethic and be able to work on your own, as well as part of a team.

- Experience or capacity to engage with various play settings and understand the value and benefits of learning through play for children of all ages

Your duties as a support worker will include

Following best practice guidance regarding safeguarding. Demonstrate and promote Equality and Diversity at all times with a none judgmental attitude. Report any significant issues, events or concerns immediately to your manager. Have a strong regard for health and safety- a first aid certificate would be useful but not essential. To attend or be willing to attend relevant training when needed. Willing to meet the needs of the children or young people you work with to include if needed any personal care needs. Supporting young people in activities to help them achieve their full potential.
