We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide support to CYPs in various settings, including home, assisted living environments, communities, day centres and education setting. Your primary focus will be to enhance the quality of life for those you support by offering support, companionship, assistance with daily activities and helping them do the extraordinary every day.

Duties



As a

Community Support Worker

you will provide high?quality, person?centred support to CYP so that they can participate safely in community life and build independence while giving families confidence and respite.

You will work closely with parents, schools and health professionals to design and deliver personalised plans that maximise CYP's independence, health and wellbeing and support their cultural, emotional and developmental needs.

Core Support



Responsibilities include:

Provide specialised care for clients using using tailored approaches to meet their unique needs. Provide

1:1 support

(occasionally 2:1 for specific activities) to help CYP access the community, develop friendships and practice daily living skills Support CYP with prompting for personal care where required (e.g., prompting with toileting, dressing or meals) and encourage them to undertake tasks themselves whenever possible. Provide support in the home to offer parents and carers a short break from their caring responsibilities Assist parents and carers to provide practical support to CYPs with additional needs Provide CYPs the opportunity to access the community and engage in social and leisure activities of their choosing Encourage and promote CYPs' independence and development of independent living skills Supervise contact between CYP and family members Provide supervision in hospital or the family home Engage the CYP in, age?appropriate activities; show genuine interest and take part alongside them to build rapport. Accompany CYP to community clubs and activities, day trips, sport and interest groups, and outings in the natural environment or local play facilities. Facilitate participation in mainstream and specialist activities and help CYP develop social relationships and life skills.

Qualifications



Compassionate, patient and friendly manner, with a zeal for person?centred care and the ability to engage children and young people Experience supporting CYP with disabilities, complex needs, autism, learning disabilities or mental health conditions, and understanding of safeguarding and the Children's & Families Act 2014. Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, de?escalation techniques and therapeutic approaches (e.g., STEPS or PROACT?SCIPr). Previous experience working with individuals who are neuro diverse including Autism and ADHD is preferred Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with CYPs and their families. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Valid driving licence is REQUIRED

for transporting clients when necessary (mileage will be paid).

Willingness to travel in and around Warrington is a

MUST as this is a community support worker role.
