Job Purpose:


To contribute to creating and enabling a safe, happy, and successful community through the provision of individual and collective support to Companions. To ensure that high standards of housing management are maintained, and Companions are supported to comply with the terms of their licence agreements. To facilitate and enable Companion development and participation in the smooth running of the Community Building.

Job Dimensions:



Mon-Fri, flexible hours between 8am - 7pm in line with operational needs Requirement to undertake and share On-Call duties, out of hours, to ensure cover 24/7. Time in lieu applies for all on-call responses, and additional expenses are reimbursed. Number of Companions: up to 24

Companion and Community Development



Contribute to the development and strengthening of local referral pathways, and an ongoing supply of appropriate referrals. Undertake the assessment of referrals, make recommendations to the Community Manager, and contribute to decision-making. Support the Community Manager to achieve and maintain full occupancy by ensuring that all approved policies and procedures relating to Companion management are implemented. Proactively facilitate the building of a sense of Community, managing changes and growth positively and sensitively. Support the Community Manager in the effective management of health, safety and security, and participate in the 24-hour emergency cover schedule. Ensure Companions are welcomed, supported and inducted into all aspects of the Community and fully understand the implications and expectations of them. Support implementation of the Companion Core Offer through the provision of structured 121 support, taking responsibility for a caseload. Ensure that all Companions have support and development plans in place that maximise their opportunity to achieve their aspirations and enhance their well-being. Ensure that occupancy agreements are upheld, and breaches dealt with in line with policies and procedures. Proactively facilitate, encourage, and support Companion engagement in the social enterprise, providing support to overcome any barriers. Actively contribute to solidarity activities as required and identify opportunities for Companions to engage in solidarity activities. Maintain recording and reporting requirements, ensuring confidential and personal data and information is recorded, stored, handled, and protected appropriately. Actively contribute to embedding a culture which provides confidentiality, promotes professional boundaries, protects data and safeguards staff, Companions and Volunteers.

Housing Management



Support the Community Manager in reducing costs, maximizing resources and operating within budget. Assist the Community Manager with reactive and planned maintenance requirements, and with maintaining high standards of cleanliness and good housekeeping. Actively contribute to weekly Community meetings and support their facilitation. Ensure the timely and accurate submission of housing benefit claims and maintain oversight through to confirmation of first payment. Contribute to and assist with the effective running of Nant Lais including food and grocery requirements, the administration of allowances, and the preparation of rooms for occupancy. Assist the Community Manager in ensuring and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and security. Undertake monthly property checks and weekly fire alarm tests. Builds and maintains positive professional relationships and proactively ensures the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.

An enhanced CRB disclosure will be required.

GCSE Maths and English Basic digital literacy for record-keeping and online training

Desirable



Safeguarding - Group B practitioners Level 3 Health & Social Care

Experience: Essential



Provision of outcomes based support. Must have previous experience of supporting adults at risk Assessment of individual needs and support planning to achieve outcomes Experience of working safely & using risk assessments in supporting people Experience of working with people who present challenging behaviours Experience of supported housing Experience of working with people with people who have drug /alcohol addictions, criminal convictions and mental health issues

Knowledge and Skills: Essential

Ability to work unsocial hours and undertake local and UK wide travel as and when required Willing and able to participate in the 24/7 on call emergency rota Full driving licence and own transport appropriate for business use on a daily basis. Enhanced DBS Disclosure required
