We're looking for a hands-on Company Accountant who's not just great with numbers but also proactive, reliable, and ready to make a real difference in a small but mighty team. If you like variety, autonomy, and the chance to help shape how things are done, this could be the role for you.

The role is initially for Maternity cover for one of our directors, but with the current trajectory of the business and the right person, the role will likely become permanent.

What you'll be doing

This is a broad and interesting role, giving you exposure across the group's accounts. You'll be working closely with the Financial Director to keep things running smoothly, efficiently, and compliantly. Expect to:

Maintain accurate financial records for multiple group businesses Process and reconcile purchase and sales invoices Manage accounts payable and receivable Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring Preparation of monthly management accounts Support with budgeting and forecasting processes Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements Assist with payroll processing and pension contributions (where required) Support the Financial Director with ad hoc reporting, project work, and year-end accounts Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders as necessary

What we're looking for

ACCA/CIMA/AAT qualified. Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel Experience in a similar SME environment A solid understanding of VAT, CIS and UK accounting standards Someone organised, dependable, and happy to get stuck in Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
