The Company Accountant role oversees the accountancy function of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial control, reporting and compliance, having a minimum of 5 years working in a similar role. A relevant accountancy qualification is desirable but not a pre-requisite. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the financial records of the business are accurate and up to date, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and compiling management accounts. This role requires proficiency in financial routines and a strong understanding of financial management principles. A strong working knowledge of accountancy systems is required.

Key Responsibilities:
-Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts to a timescale.
-Running a small payroll.
-Compiling and submitting VAT returns and corporation tax.
-Working with colleagues to ensure the sales and purchase ledgers are accurate.
-Cash book maintenance/bank reconciliations.
-Nominal ledger maintenance and control.
-Liaising with auditors and external accounts for preparation of year end statutory financial statements
-complying with HMRC regulations.
-Maintaining a fixed asset register.
-Other miscellaneous items applicable to the role.

Qualifications:
-Proven experience in a similar role.
-Qualified or part-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification is desirable.
-Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in financial/management accounting.
-Proficiency in accountancy packages, preferably Sage.
-Proficiency in Excel spreadsheets.
-Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
-Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
-Good communication skills to link with other members of the team.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 19,000.00-26,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 15 - 21 per week
