Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Completions Manager to join our Nuclear Defence project in Berkshire where we are the Principal Contractor for AWE. This is a great opportunity to be involved in one of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK today. Your skills and experience will help deliver the successful commissioning and demonstration of specialist equipment, building services and control systems required to operate the facility.


As a Lead Completions Manager you will direct, organise and control construction and commissioning completions activities on behalf of the Commissioning and Construction Manager to progress successful tracking and delivery of the project. Implementing Orbit completions management system with the team lead to support the project delivery. Recommending improvements where necessary in accordance with Costain's Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health management arrangements and all applicable legislation.



Lead a Completions team to deliver Completions systems within a complex project environment. Liaise with multiple contractors to ensure timely submissions to the quality required for a Defence and Nuclear project. Lead a team in guiding and supporting contractors with their input into the Completions Database and in importing construction completion check sheets into the Orbit Database Completion System. Produce status reporting on the Completions process, innovate improved reporting and drive contractor performance in terms of quality and schedule adherence Lead contractors in their understanding of and compliance with the Costain Project Completions Management Plan and Procedures. Support the Commissioning and Completions team with general administration, working with Excel document trackers, Word and PowerPoint.

Safety Accountabilities


Deliver Completions MCC/RFC certificates in line with Company duties as Principal Contractor under the Construction, Design and Management Regulations. Lead a team in working to Company safety requirement for working in the site office and in following Costain site procedures and safety rules
Quality Accountabilities


Ensure Orbit MCC/RFC certificates scanned into the system are legible and complete. Ensure check sheets are quality checked and entered against the correct system/sub-system. Support review of Tag registers, ITP's and Check sheets using the appropriate document management system.
Additional Accountabilities -


Act as a gatekeeper for governance within the Completions process.

Suitable experience in a relevant project delivery role within the construction industry- specifically Defense/Nuclear. HNC or Degree Qualified in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent qualification in a construction or engineering discipline or a recognised apprentice training scheme or demonstrable experience. Working Knowledge of the management & control methods within Construction & Engineering Project Delivery. Fundamental understanding of the principles and disciplines within the construction & engineering industry. High level of competence in the use of Microsoft Office Suite/SharePoint and other IT systems. Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills. Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Security: Current holder of Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance, or able to obtain
