About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Complex Care Nurse (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) to join our specialist care team supporting clients in Glossop and Buxton. This community-based role involves delivering high-level nursing care in the homes of clients with a range of complex needs, including long-term neurological conditions, physical disabilities, and respiratory support requirements.
You will be key in delivering and overseeing complex care tasks while working collaboratively with support staff, families, and wider healthcare professionals. A commitment to flexibility, clinical leadership, and training others is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialised clinical care to clients, including:
Tracheostomy management
Ventilator care
PEG feeding
Catheter and stoma care
Wound care
Cough assist
Bowel irrigation
Monitor client health and escalate changes in condition as appropriate
Administer medication safely and in line with regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate records and care documentation in compliance with NMC and CQC standards
Support, educate, and mentor care support staff, ensuring safe and effective delegation of care
Promote and uphold person-centred care and safeguarding standards
Attend mandatory and specialist training, including an initial induction at head office in Harrogate (HG3)
Be available to cover shifts at short notice when needed, providing a responsive and dependable service
Essential Requirements:
Valid NMC registration (RGN, RMN, or RNLD)
A minimum of 6 months' post-registration experience in complex or community nursing
Experience in delivering at least some of the following: tracheostomy care, cough assist, bowel management (including irrigation), PEG care, and ventilator support
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Willingness to travel across Glossop and Buxton
Ability to attend training at Harrogate (HG3)
Strong clinical judgement and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to teach and coach others
A team player with a flexible and proactive attitude, including the willingness to cover shifts at short notice
Desirable Experience:
Experience supporting individuals with spinal injuries, neuromuscular conditions, or brain injuries
Familiarity with electronic care records and digital handovers
Awareness of safeguarding and best practice frameworks in domiciliary nursing
