Opportunity: Complex Care Nurse (Part-Time) - Norfolk

We are currently seeking a Complex Care Nurse to join our team and support a client in Norfolk on a part-time basis.

Our client is a young man in his 20's. The youngest of three brothers, he lives in an incredibly loving, supportive, chatty and lively household in the charming village of Rockland St. Mary, just 15 minutes drive from central Norwich. A full UK driving license is essential and access to own transport is needed due to the rural location.

He's a charming, funny and inspiring young man who has a wide spectrum of interests. He is very sociable and enjoys company. He loves baking, quiz shows, getting out and about in the local area and football. Most of all, he adores people; his care team describe him as a joy to work with and says he has nothing but kind words to share.

This fulfilling role involves providing tailored care to meet the young person's specific needs

Key Responsibilities:



Our client has complex medical needs following a spinal injury. He has an NG tube for drainage and is fed by jejunal tube via his bowel. Due to scoliosis, he has a bipap to support breathing during the night. He has a concise care plan in place to support his needs which include

Daily bowel, urinary and personal care Feeding regime. Physiotherapy programme. Manual handling Medication delivery

Shifts:



12 hrs per week - Monday to Sunday day shift either 6 or 12 hours

Complex Care Nurse - Requirements



Essential:



Valid NMC Registration and PIN:

Must hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and maintain an active PIN.

Nursing Qualification:

Possess a recognised nursing qualification (RN Adult, RN Child, RN Learning Disabilities, or RN Mental Health).

Clinical Skills and Experience:



Nasogastric Tube Management:

Competent in insertion, care, and monitoring of nasogastric tubes.

Medication Administration:

Skilled in the safe administration of medication, including complex regimens.

PEG Feed:

Experienced in managing percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding.

Jejunostomy Care:

Knowledge and experience in caring for clients with jejunostomy tubes.

Bowel Management:

Proficient in supporting clients with bowel management needs.

Spinal Injury Care:

Experience in caring for individuals with spinal injuries, including associated care requirements.

Suprapubic Catheter Management:

Able to manage and care for suprapubic catheters.

BiPAP Therapy:

Competent in the use and monitoring of Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) devices.

Additional Requirements:

Preference for candidates who are non-smokers, in line with health and safety policies. Commitment to ongoing professional development and best practice in complex care. Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centered care plans. Flexibility to work various shifts Full UK driving licence (desirable but not always essential, depending on location).
