Canterbury Oast Trust is dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support for adults with learning disabilities, and sometimes complex needs, throughout Kent. As a member of our Complex Care Support Worker team, you will be offered ad hoc hours to meet the needs of our Service Users and Tenants to:


Provide good quality care and support to adults based on their needs through a person-centred approach Accompany adults to their life-skills sessions such as music, art and sensory sessions Assist them in every aspect of their daily lives, including personal care Provide a safe and supportive environment that enables individuals to feel valued, reach their potential and nurture their aspirations Maintain appropriate records and written reports Plan trips and activities
The ideal Complex Care Support Worker will:


Have an appreciation of the needs of adults with learning disabilities Be considerate, calm, patient, self-motivated, enthusiastic, respectful, non-judgmental and professional Be flexible as variable shifts include long days, weekends, sleep-ins, and awake nights as allocated on an ad-hoc basis. Have an understanding of, or experience with, autism, dementia and epilepsy, although not essential Know specialist equipment, although not essential, as person handling training will be provided Have sound interpersonal skills Possess good verbal and written communication skills, plus basic IT and report writing skills Hold a Health & Social Care NVQ2 or Level 2 Diploma Qualification

or

be willing to undertake the Care Certificate Hold a driving licence due to our rural location and the requirement to drive to appointments/activities with service users, using a manual pool car.
