The Role:

Complex Care Support Worker

Hourly Rate:

13.50 per hour

Location:

Sheffield, S5 and Dinnington, S25

We currently have

2 vacancies available in Sheffield.

Each successful applicant will be recruited to work on

one specific package only -- either Package 1 or Package 2

(details below).

Shift Pattern Overview:

We provide 24-hour, around-the-clock care. Shifts will include a mixture of

days, waking nights, sleeping nights, and alternate weekends

, depending on the package.

Contract Type:

Permanent, with immediate start available.
We offer the below contract options:

Package 1 - 36-hour contract (3 x 12-hour shifts per week) Package 2 - 48-hour contract (opportunity to do 24-hour shifts)

DBS:

Preferred

Driver with access to a vehicle:

Preferred

Right to Work:

It's important to note that we recruit with a person-centred approach, meaning successful candidates will primarily work on one of our packages based in a single location. However, there may be occasional opportunities to work across other packages within the area.

The People in Sheffield

Package 1 - Sheffield, S5:

You will be supporting an

older gentleman with a spinal injury.

Duties include

tracheostomy care, ventilation, catheter care, personal care, pressure care, administering medication, moving and handling

, and working closely with two carers on each shift. He is a cheery person who enjoys

painting, jigsaw puzzles, board games, outings to local garden centres

, and spending time with his family.

Shift Pattern - Package 1:

Days:

8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Nights:

8:00 PM - 8:00 AM Shifts include

days, waking nights, and alternate weekends

Package 2 - Dinnington, S25:

You will be supporting a

gentleman in his 40s with a spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury.

Duties include

moving and handling, bowel care, medication, pressure area care, infection control, autonomic dysreflexia management, spinal cord injury support, manual cough assist, passive exercises, E-Stim, and leg splints.

He enjoys

Days:

8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Sleeping Nights:

8:00 PM - 8:00 AM

Optional 24-hour shifts available

Contract: 48 hours per week

Training

At Josh's Care Company, we are dedicated to equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become compliant in all areas of specialised care -- from tracheostomy and ventilator management to postural and respiratory care, PEG feeding, and spinal care. You will be supported by our skilled and experienced nursing team, who bring a wealth of expertise to ensure you receive the highest standard of training and guidance.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking highly motivated professionals with a caring demeanour, excellent communication skills, and previous care experience. Knowledge of complex care is an advantage. A positive attitude and friendly nature are essential, as you'll be providing meaningful support and encouragement to enhance our clients' quality of life.
