We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing active support to individuals at our day centre, and in the community. This position requires a patient and empathetic individual who has experience working with individuals who have complex needs.
Duties
Assist service users to access and engage in our services/activities
Provide companionship and emotional support to service users, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
Support individuals with mobility challenges.
Encourage service users participation in community events.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with other staff to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all service users.
Requirements
Previous experience working with individuals who have complex needs or behaviour that can be challenging.
Knowledge of learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with service users and their families.
A caring and patient attitude with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Physical capability to assist with mobility support when needed.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in health and social care are beneficial
