Overview
We are seeking a proactive and meticulous Compliance and ESG Manager to support our commitment to delivering high-quality products while operating sustainably and ethically. This role will be integral to maintaining our standards, ensuring compliance with customer, legal and regulatory requirements, and driving Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives across our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
ESG
Leading and delivering on ESG Key Plans and Strategy
Ensure Climate Action Roadmap milestones are met, to enable alignment with our 2050 Net Zero target and customer targets.
Staff training and engagement, with particular emphasis on Environment and Social aspects
Internal and external ESG communication
Keeping abreast of ESG related legislation and customer requirements and maintaining compliance
Annual ESG budget proposals
Compliance
Work collaboratively with departments and suppliers to ensure that the materials used in the manufacturing process meet the requirements for a variety of customers, as well as any regulatory requirements such as flammability testing, UKTR (EUDR) and chemical/physical requirement.
Collaborate with the suppliers to ensure they have the relevant standards/certifications in place to deliver the customer requirements.
Manage the for requesting, validating, and recording of relevant documentation.
Producing and/or uploading certifications to the relevant client portals in line with critical path requirements
Conduct internal audits and inspections to assess compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements across the business.
Assist in the development of improved systems to monitor certification and improvements to internal processes if needed.
Manage external audits, accreditations, and customer inspections across the business.
Work collaboratively with departments to promote sustainability initiatives and best practices throughout the business.
Training & Communication
Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners on compliance matters and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare accurate reports and documentation for senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
Deliver training and raise awareness across the business on Regulatory requirements as well as ESG policies, standards, and expectations.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience in a compliance or an audit-related role ideal qualified internal auditor
Able to manage and coordinate changing priorities, capable of prioritise workload and multi-tasking to complete assignments.
Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confident in managing audits and working across teams to drive improvement.
Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
Relevant experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of timber, product, and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing.
Training or qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, compliance, or quality management.
