About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive and highly competent
Compliance Manager (Fire Lead)
to join our clients team. This is a key strategic role responsible for ensuring full compliance with fire safety standards across the organisation's property portfolio.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate all essential criteria in the knowledge, skills and qualifications list, and must be confident working both autonomously and collaboratively within a large public-sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on all fire safety compliance activities across council buildings.
Ensure all fire safety legislation, regulations and internal policies are adhered to consistently.
Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly.
Provide expert technical advice to senior leaders, property teams and external partners.
Drive forward improvements, ensuring best practice and a robust safety culture.
Act as the council's key point of contact for fire safety compliance.
Produce reports, documentation and evidence for regulatory or internal review.
Work proactively and dynamically to ensure all fire safety operations remain compliant and up to date.
What We're Looking For
We require someone who is:
Competent
- strong technical expertise in fire safety and compliance.
Experienced
- proven background in similar fire safety, compliance, or property safety roles.
Dynamic
- able to adapt quickly, improve systems and initiate actions.
Proactive
- capable of driving compliance forward with minimal supervision.
Self-assured & autonomous
- confident making decisions and managing responsibilities independently.
Essential Requirements
Relevant fire safety qualifications (e.g., Fire Safety Management, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Engineering or equivalent).
Proven experience in fire compliance within local authority, housing, commercial property or similar sectors.
Strong understanding of fire regulations, audits, risk assessments and statutory compliance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and advise.
Ability to work 2 days per week minimum from our Worcester office.
