Full time ( Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM )

Job Purpose



The Compliance Officer ensures that the organization operates in full accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies within the domiciliary care sector. They are responsible for monitoring, auditing, and advising on compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC), safeguarding standards, GDPR, and health & safety laws. By promoting a strong culture of accountability and quality, the Compliance Officer helps maintain the highest standards of care, protect service users, and reduce organizational risk.

Key Responsibilities



1. Regulatory Compliance Monitoring

Ensure compliance with local and national healthcare regulations, including those set by bodies like the CQC in the UK and Care sector regulations.

Stay up to date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the care sector.

2. Policy Development and Enforcement

Develop, update, and implement internal policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements.

Monitor adherence to internal controls and policies across care operations.

3. Auditing and Inspections

Conduct internal audits and mock inspections to assess compliance in areas such as medication administration, infection control, documentation, and safeguarding.

Prepare for and support CQC inspections.

Address non-compliance by recommending corrective actions and tracking their implementation.

4. Staff Training and Education

Deliver or coordinate training sessions on compliance topics such as:

o General Data Protection regulation and confidentiality

o Health and safety

o Safeguarding adults and children

o Incident reporting and whistleblowing

Ensure all staff understand their responsibilities under the law and internal policies.

5. Incident Management and Reporting

Investigate complaints, incidents, or safeguarding concerns, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting to relevant authorities.

Maintain detailed records of incidents, audits, and actions taken.

6. Risk Assessment and Mitigation

Identify potential areas of compliance risk within the care setting.

Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies that reduce legal and operational risk.

7. Liaison and Communication

Act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and legal advisors.

Communicate compliance updates and concerns to management and the board

Essential Criteria



Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years' experience in senior care role or Coordinator role within domiciliary care, demonstrating proven operational and team leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Health & Social care, Health care administration & Public low, Master's degree or diploma in Compliance, Risk Management or Health care low is plus. Possession of a Level 5 Health & Social care (or equivalent) is essential.

Regulatory Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of CQC standards, the Health and Social Care Act 2008, and other relevant statutory regulations.

Leadership & Communication:

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage complex challenges, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Operational Competence:

Strong IT literacy with excellent organisational and administrative skills, ensuring efficient management of day-to-day operations.
