What will you be doing?







Reporting to the Director Engineering & Technology the Compliance Officer role will lead regulatory compliance across the organisation, partnering with engineering and manufacturing teams from concept through to production to ensure requirements are built into every stage of product development. The role will also work closely with stakeholders across international markets to ensure alignment with global regulatory standards. In addition, the Compliance Officer will act as the key liaison with external regulators and certification bodies, supporting ongoing compliance and securing necessary product approvals.




Key Responsibilities:






Identify relevant compliance regulations and standards by country and region Develop and manage compliance plans for new and existing products Oversee the full compliance and regulatory approval process Coordinate global product testing with external test houses and secure certifications Support pre-compliance testing during product design Ensure accurate product marking, labelling, and user documentation Work with procurement to confirm supplier compliance (e.g. RoHS, REACH, UL) Maintain organised records of test data, certificates, and compliance documents Provide compliance support and documentation to global sales teams Monitor ongoing compliance of existing products with engineering teams Plan and manage military-related testing with engineering and sales teams



About You:







The ideal candidate will have a technical qualification, preferably a degree in Engineering, with proven experience in regulatory compliance for electronic products. They will apply their strong knowledge of global standards relevant to Codan/DTC products such as CE/UKCA marking, EMC, Radio Equipment Regulations, FCC, and Industry Canada to guide and influence cross-functional teams. Expertise in environmental compliance frameworks including REACH, RoHS, WEEE, PFAS/PFOA, and the Environmental Protection Act is essential, along with a solid understanding of cybersecurity requirements for communication products. The role demands effective leadership in overseeing certification processes, technical documentation, while confidently engaging and aligning with internal and external stakeholders. Experience supporting defence and national security tenders, combined with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and lead compliance across the organisation, is highly desirable.



This is an office-based position and may require the successful candidate to undergo UK Security Clearance.
