Job Description

DB Cargo UK is recruiting for a Compliance, Quality and Safety Manager to work alongside our management team in Stoke. The main purpose of the role is to drive continuous improvement of the Stoke Maintenance Depot, ensuring safe, high quality driven performance is at the heart od what we do. To lead and develop a positive safety culture through employee engagement and knowledge management. To develop a culture of "Zero Tolerance" and "Challenge" within the workforce. Assist in investigations to identify root cause and implement actions to prevent re-occurrence of incidents. Review and communicate clearly and effectively to the workforce key Documentation, Competence Principles and Processes. Ensure full compliance of the depot's compliance matrix.

The key accountabilities of the role will include but not limited to some highlighted areas below:




Leading the development of a positive safety culture


Maintain compliance and future certification in accordance with ISO's 9001, 45001 & 14001.


Ensure Risk Assessments are managed and communicated to staff.


Maintain a suite of COSHH Assessments and liaise with Procurement over new products.


Assist the Depot Manager in ensuring all Incidents are investigated to root cause and any recommendations are fully implemented.


Detailed reporting of all incidents within the Figtree System


Responsible for the organisation and completion of the local audit plan.


Ownership of the depot adherence with the compliance matrix and relevant safety standards.


Local Inductions including Contractors, New Employees and Visitors


Line management of site plant & maintenance team.


Within this role, you may be required to be involved in short / long term projects as required by the business or customer.


Understanding of maintenance procedures regarding health /Safety and compliance.


Audit to ISO standards & accreditations.


Understanding of audit findings and reporting procedures.


Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Management systems


Proven experience in continuous improvement programmes. (LEAN, 6 SIGMA, KAIZEN etc.)


Effective roll out of changes to standards


IOSH, Managing safely accreditation


Lead Auditor accreditation


IEMA approved foundation certificate in environmental management


Trained Risk Assessor


Trained COSSH Assessor
