Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic nights team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong composite knowledge and the ability to trim, fit, bond and assemble various composite components. The Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all assemblies meet quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities



Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specification to understand the requirements for fitting and assembly of composite components. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to trim, shape, and fit composite parts as per specifications. Apply adhesives, resins, or other bonding agents to join composite parts together. Assemble composite parts according to the defined sequence, ensuring correct alignment, fit and finish. Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct visual inspections to verify the quality of composite components and identify any defects or imperfections. Follow established procedures and quality standards to maintain consistency and ensure compliance with specifications. Collaborate with the Fitting Section Team Lead and Engineering team to address any fitting or assembly challenges, provide input on process improvements, and contribute to the overall success of the department. Maintain a clean and organised work area, including correct storage and handling of composite materials and tools. Document and maintain accurate records of fitting and assembly activities , including any issues or deviations encountered. Continuously update and expand knowledge of composite materials, fitting techniques, and industry best practices. Any other duties as reasonably required.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Fitter within the composite industry for at least 2 years. Experience with the bonding, assembly, fitting and trimming of Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace parts. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new areas. Working knowledge of air tolls, common appliances and devices. Able to communicate at all levels. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
