About the role
We're looking for a Compound Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations at our Chepstow Preparation Centre. You will coordinate inbound and outbound vehicle logistics, lead the appraisal process, and manage the vehicle preparation workflow to OEM and Mon Motors standards, ensuring throughput, quality, safety and cost control.
What you'll do
Support the compound & prep operation: Assist in the planning of daily workloads, allocate tasks, and maintain flow of prep vehicles from intake to dispatch.
Coordinate vehicle logistics: liaise with transport partners, dealerships and internal stakeholders; manage yard layout and bay utilisation.
Lead appraisal & preparation: ensure consistent appraisal standards; oversee rectification/valeting/imaging; signoff quality.
Deliver KPIs: track turnaround times, rework, damage rates, quality control, right first time %, and cost per unit; act on variances.
Continuous improvement: streamline processes, reduce bottlenecks, improve layout.
Stock & documentation control: manage keys, accessories and documentation; ensure accurate systems updates.
What you'll bring
Experience or transferrable skills in vehicle logistics, vehicle appraisal, and vehicle preparation (prep centre/compound/PDI/valeting/detailing).
Strong planning, decision-making and stakeholder communication skills; comfortable with live ops problem-solving.
Competent with basic yard/compound systems (booking, status codes, job sheets); Excel/handheld app experience helpful.
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
Working pattern
Working pattern - On site Monday to Friday 8-5pm with occasional flexibility around the compound's operational hours 07:00-00:00 - This will be to cover operational peaks, handovers, and late movements.
