Job Description



We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Computer & Phone Service Engineer to join our team. You'll be fixing and maintaining laptops, desktops, mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices. The job involves both hardware and software work, so you'll need to be confident working on a range of tech problems. You'll often work on your own and will need to manage your time well.

Duties



Repair, service and install computers, mobile phones, tablets, and similar devices. Replace faulty parts or damaged components. Install and set up operating systems like Windows, iOS, and Android. Keep track of your work with proper documentation. Perform regular maintenance checks. Work with other technicians to fix more complex issues. Make sure your work follows health and safety rules. Keep customers updated on the progress of their repairs and give helpful advice.

What We're Looking For



Technical Skills:

Good at fixing hardware issues in computers, phones, tablets, etc. Confident with operating systems like Windows, macOS, and Linux. Basic understanding of networks (IP addresses, routers, Wi-Fi, etc.) Able to install and troubleshoot different types of software. Know how to remove viruses and keep systems secure. Experience with backing up and recovering data. Comfortable using remote support tools. Desirable: Familiar with scripting (like PowerShell or Bash). Desirable: Knowledge of virtual machines (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V).
Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving abilities. Clear and friendly communication skills. Great with customers - patient, professional, and helpful. Able to work independently or as part of a team. Energetic and positive, with a "can-do" attitude. Organised and good at managing time. Willing to learn new things and keep up with tech changes
Experience & Qualifications:

At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related subject. Full UK Driving License
