To provide technical and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the University/School's large hybrid computing platform and to assist in its development and expansion across multiple sites. Provide first-line support for the diagnosis and resolution of computing-related queries and problems, resolving problems in the first instance or escalating them to colleagues for follow-up as required. This position is available immediately to work as part of the IT Support Computer Technician team, reporting to the Senior Computer Technician.
About the person:
The successful candidate will have solid technical experience gained in a high-tech IT technical support role and excel in a customer-focused support capacity. You will proactively support staff and students across our sites and enjoy fielding queries from end users as part of the hands-on IT Support Team. You will provide professional support for setting up computer systems, troubleshooting problems, maintaining and managing computing and specialist laboratories, diagnosing and resolving issues in a timely manner. The role is widely varied, and you should expect a diverse range of technical support issues and be able to provide solutions in a simple, clear, customer friendly manner.
