This large, co-educational secondary school in Knowsley, are looking to appoint a dedicated Computing and Media Specialist to teach KS3 - KS4 levels and work as part of an established team. This is a full-time role, starting at the beginning of the next Academic Year, and the successful candidate must have experience of working with children up to KS4. The school has 1862 students aged 11-18, including more than 330 in the Sixth Form and was marked as Good in all areas following their last Ofsted inspection. There are different pathways at GCSE, and also at Key Stage 3 to reflect the needs of different students. Visual and Performing Arts, as well as PE are particular strengths of the school and this is reflected in excellent exam results as well as the array of curricular enrichment activities.

About the Role

Teaching pre-set Key Stage 3/4 students

No planning, marking or assessing

Working with children aged from 11 through to 16 years old

Managing an average class size in the absence of a teacher

Flexible accommodating days

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Computing and Media Specialist you will:

  • Have a minimum of 5 days experience working in sole charge of a group of children in the last 10 years
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build a good rapport with students and staff
  • A passion for working with children, in a calm and authoritative manner
  • Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check that is on the Update Service
