Key Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Deliver high-quality Computing lessons to students across KS3 and KS4.
Follow the academy's schemes of work and the National Curriculum.
Plan, assess, and evaluate lessons to ensure all learners make good progress.
Provide effective written and verbal feedback to students.
Curriculum and Development
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Computing curriculum.
Support department planning and resource development.
Maintain up-to-date records and participate in data collection and analysis.
Pastoral and Whole-School Duties
Act as a tutor, ensuring accurate attendance records and offering support to students' welfare and development.
Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Participate in school duties such as break and lunch supervision on a rota basis.
Attend parent meetings and provide updates on student progress.
Professional Development
Engage in continuing professional development and training.
Take part in relevant meetings and contribute to the school community.
Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Computer Science)
Experience & Knowledge
Strong subject knowledge in Computing and familiarity with National Curriculum requirements -
Experience teaching Computing in a school or equivalent setting -
Knowledge of qualification requirements in Computing
Skills & Abilities
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Strong communication skills with both young people and adults
Collaborative and team-oriented
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow school policies and procedures
