The Opportunity


We're hiring a Portfolio Manager to join The Finance Hive and take full ownership of one of our most influential buy-side trading communities. This is a hybrid role for someone who thrives at the intersection of content, community, and commercial success. You'll lead every aspect of your portfolio - from curating agenda-setting in-person and digital events, to engaging senior buy-side traders from firms like BlackRock, Vanguard, and Fidelity, to collaborating with commercial partners to deliver value through strategic event partnerships.

While this role sits within our events team, it's far more than event production - this is about driving a year-round engagement strategy and becoming a trusted voice within a key capital markets community.

Responsibilities



As a Portfolio Manager, you will:

Take full ownership of a Finance Hive community portfolio

- responsible for building and engaging a network of senior buy side leaders, driving content strategy, securing attendance, and delivering high-impact in-person and digital events throughout the year

Hold regular conversations with community members (phone, video, and in person)

to understand evolving challenges, gather market intelligence, and shape relevant and timely event content

Develop deep, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders

across asset managers, hedge funds, insurers, and pensions to drive loyalty, repeat engagement, and insight sharing

Curate high-impact event agendas and discussion frameworks

based on original research and real-time industry challenges

Identify, secure, and manage high-profile speakers and roundtable leaders

- ensuring a diverse, relevant, and respected speaker lineup at every event

Write compelling copy for event agendas, promotional materials, discussion guides, and follow-up communications

to support content marketing and drive attendance

Collaborate with commercial partners and sponsors

, ensuring their objectives align with member needs and are reflected in session formats and messaging without compromising editorial integrity

Own the end-to-end project management of your portfolio's events

- overseeing timelines, speaker logistics, and execution of on-site and digital experiences

Act as the lead host and facilitator at your events

, moderating discussions, guiding conversations, and being the visible face of your community

Track and report on portfolio KPIs

, including attendance rates, member engagement, partner satisfaction, and content performance

Spot and act on commercial or community growth opportunities

, such as new formats, partnerships, content verticals, or regional chapters

Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, operations)

to ensure seamless and commercially successful delivery across all touchpoints

You must be comfortable getting on the phone regularly -

whether for new member outreach, relationship building, or securing speakers.

To Be Successful in This Role You Are:



A confident communicator and relationship builder, comfortable engaging senior executives over the phone and face-to-face Naturally curious, intellectually engaged with industry trends and content creation Experienced in conference production, B2B communities, or a related field (2+ years preferred) Goal-oriented with a proven ability to hit and exceed KPIs and deadlines A multitasker with strong organisational and project management skills Resilient and proactive, with a strong sense of personal accountability Creative and commercial - able to "connect the dots" and spot opportunities to create value for members and partners Detail-oriented, articulate, and passionate about delivering excellent experiences
