This is an opportunity to work at the very heart of the Open Bionics mission: delivering life-changing technology by ensuring a perfect fit for every user. You will be the crucial link between our clinical partners and our products, transforming user feedback into bespoke, highly functional prostheses. As a key member of our dedicated Configuration Engineering team (a focused group of 4-6), you will collaborate to solve unique challenges and deliver exceptional outcomes.

Your work will not only directly enhance the lives of our users but also shape the future of our customisation workflow and solidify our reputation within the clinical community. If you are passionate about user-centric design, this role provides an exceptional platform to master industry-leading CAD and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles within the pioneering field of bionics.

Key responsibilities:

Pre-production of all Open Bionics orders

3D Scanning of plaster casts received from clinics Preparation/cleanup of 3D scans CATIA design of all Open Bionics product orders Generation of GCode for 3D printers Design of Special Covers in CATIA/Blender
Process

Maintaining up-to-date data in NetSuite (ERP system) for tracking order progress and department KPIs. Making and implementing suggestions, in collaboration with the Configuration Manager, on how to improve the design and production process to improve efficiency and quality.
Clinical knowledge and training

Meeting with prosthetists and clinicians to train them on how to order Open Bionics products and what product considerations they need to take into account through their clinical work with patients. Forwarding feedback to inform process optimisation and improvement. Gathering product feedback from clinicians to report to the R&D team. Technical Support Communicate with clinical partners throughout the fitting process and assist with the management of Support Cases relating to fit issues.
A successful first six months at Open Bionics would include:

Reaching a level of competency to be able to check other team members' work as part of the quality assurance process. Successful completion of all required training exercises.

Person Scorecard



Essential:

2:1 (or above) Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Experience in using a 3D CAD package. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confident and competent presenter to train others. Time management and prioritisation skills in order to work to deadlines efficiently and effectively. Experience working in customer support or within customer-facing roles.
Desirable (Benefit but not essential):

Experience utilising CATIA. Experience with advanced 3D surfacing. Experience in training and mentoring others.
