The Role

This is a key role working as part of our award winning Conservation Education and Engagement team, delivering our on site, outreach and virtual programme of workshops for schools, colleges and universities; assisting with the development of activities, workshops and high quality learning resources to support our programme.

As a Conservation Education Assistant you will:

Work alongside our Conservation Education Officers to deliver Chester Zoo's programme of activities for schools, colleges and universities Deliver workshops in-zoo, virtually and as outreach Work with colleagues to maximise conservation impact, achieve learning goals and improve visitor/audience experience by contributing to research Manage resources Support and work with volunteers Support administrative tasks

The Package

Our Requirements

A good knowledge and an ongoing interest of zoo-based conservation and the natural world. Outstanding communication skills, in particular verbal and written communication. Experience of delivering engaging workshops to a variety of audiences including school aged children. Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and time management skills. Experience of working with volunteers. A full driving licence valid in the UK is essential. Although not essential, the following would be desirable: Experience of delivering engaging workshops to groups with additional learning needs. A sound and up to date knowledge of the National Curriculum and safeguarding legislation and policies.
