Main Responsibilities/Duties May Include:



(Depending on experience and renumeration)

To support the effective day-to-day operation of the construction business by managing administration, logistics, company facilities, and operational systems.

The Construction Administrator / Operations Manager acts as a central point of coordination between head office, project sites, suppliers, and management -- ensuring the company runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with policies and procedures.

1. Operations & Logistics



Oversee the general running of company operations -- vehicles, plant, equipment, facilities, and office infrastructure. Manage procurement and maintenance of company assets (e.g. vans, tools, IT equipment, PPE, uniforms). Coordinate with site teams to ensure operational resources are available and maintained. Manage fleet insurance, servicing schedules, MOTs, and fuel cards. Support project mobilisation and demobilisation (permits, site setups, welfare, etc.). Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.

2. Administration & Compliance



Maintain accurate company records, registers, and documentation (insurance, training, vehicle logs, etc.). Assist with tender documentation, subcontractor onboarding, and compliance checks (e.g. health & safety documentation, accreditations, CSCS cards). Support accreditation renewals. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (H&S, HR, quality management). Coordinate annual renewals for insurance, leases, and maintenance contracts.

3. Finance & Reporting Support



Support the Finance or Commercial team with purchase orders, invoices, and cost tracking. Monitor and report on operational budgets (fleet, facilities, consumables, etc.). Assist in preparing reports for management meetings and board reviews.

4. People & Office Management



Supervise administrative or support staff where applicable. Coordinate staff training records, inductions, and competency tracking. Oversee office management - supplies, equipment, and housekeeping. Organise company events, training days, and operational briefings.

5. Health, Safety & Environment



Support the HSE Manager with record-keeping, audits, and safety communications. Ensure fleet and facilities comply with H&S and environmental requirements. Promote a culture of safe working and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Required Experience:



Essential



Strong administrative or operational background within the construction or engineering industry. Excellent organisational and multitasking skills. Working knowledge of construction processes and site operations. Experience managing company resources (fleet, plant, or facilities). Competent in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Clear communication skills and ability to liaise across multiple departments.

Job Types:



This is a full time, permanent position office based with site visits

Schedule:



Monday to Friday - 9am-5pm

Salary & Package:



Competitive per annum

subject to review at 4 months including review of benefits

Company vehicle upon 4month review

Pension:



You will be automatically enrolled into the Government NEST scheme.

Holiday Entitlement:



The holiday year is 1 January to 31 December and holiday entitlement is

20 days

2+ years (minimum) in the role
