Construction Associate - Cardiff
Salary: Competitive + Bonus
Join a leading commercial legal practice in Cardiff, working on high-value, complex construction projects across a mix of sectors. The team is collaborative, fast-growing, and known for delivering top-tier commercial advice.
The Role
A balanced mix of contentious and non-contentious work. You'll draft and negotiate construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC), advise on procurement and risk, and support clients through the full project lifecycle. On the disputes side, you'll handle adjudications, arbitrations, mediations, and TCC litigation.
What you'll do

• Draft/negotiation of construction documents and project agreements
• Advise on procurement, risk allocation, compliance, and project delivery issues
• Manage disputes including delays, defects, payment issues, and professional negligence
• Act in adjudications, arbitrations, mediations, and TCC proceedings
• Build client relationships and contribute to business development
• Mentor junior colleagues and collaborate across departments

About you

• 4+ years' PQE in construction
• Strong non-contentious experience; interest or experience in disputes
• Commercial mindset, clear communicator, detail-focused
• Enjoys teamwork, mentoring, and client interaction
