Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Delivery Lead to provide leadership and direction to the Construction and Services teams offshore.

To ensure that all Construction activities are completed in line with the schedule and the required verification, inspection, and release activities are carried out in a timely manner to achieve the project milestones as per the P6 schedule and the approved Quality Control Plans, procedures, standards, and specifications.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Senior Construction Manager
  • Construction readiness inc. process for readiness assurance
  • Control of work management \xe2\x80\x93
  • Commissioning and Leak testing PoC
  • Agile application to scopes
  • Construction agile board
  • Kanban and value stream mapping on key scopes
  • Set up huddles on critical scope areas to facilitate offshore execution
  • Planning
  • Resourcing input in during pre mobilisation period
  • Scope prioritisation for Construction and Services
  • Provide guidance and support to all Construction personnel
  • Definition of construction support to other disciplines e.g. commissioning, leak testing
  • To be fully familiar of all Construction activities and a provide support and guidance as required
  • Construction contact for flange management activities
  • Deck planning and scope SIMOPS identification
  • Ensure the completions process is followed, raise any issues with the Senior Construction Manager responsible for offshore
  • Construction support to materials checking [part of B&T process]
  • SV& O\xe2\x80\x99s, IRIS and Quality Leadership for the project
  • Deck Management for the project
  • Drive delivery of the perfect working day
  • Offshore surveys for the Project
  • Manage Project STQs
  • Present regular project updates to the Construction team
  • Demonstrate professional and positive attitudes / behaviours
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with peer groups, Wood and BP management and third-party vendors
  • Lead by example, setting high personal standards for peers to follow, proactively demonstrate and drive safety and leadership. Proactively support compliance with Wood Life Saving rules. Participate in company safety initiatives
  • Effective delegation to ensure the continuity of work scope execution
  • Be compliant with Wood procedures and client codes and standards
  • Ensure that all project plant and equipment meet requirements, fully certificated and controlled effectively
  • Attend offshore meetings and report of any issues arising from these meetings
  • Liaise closely with all sub-contractors\xe2\x80\x99 personnel, materials, plant, equipment, vendors, special tools, common user\xe2\x80\x99s services and consumables are correctly resourced and available
  • Deliver against agreed planned work scopes ensuring obligations are met by way of timely completion of work packs
  • Ensure effective control of all material movements, providing clear direction to the Offshore Materials Lead
  • If identified, react to change in scope, inform necessary parties and complete the necessary change management documentation
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
  • Ensure quality and consistency of reporting and plan attainment
  • To constantly review progress and monitor programmes, updating the latter, when necessary, in conjunction with the Senior Construction Manager
  • To co-ordinate and report daily on all progress matters and support requirements
  • To constantly strive to obtain maximum productivity and economical use of labour and equipment
  • To ensure that all project activities are carried out with good safety practices and full adherence to the site permit system that is in operation
  • Lead Self verification and observation audits
  • Focal point for project SIMOPS, making priority decisions as required
  • Participate in safety meetings leading and presenting themes as required
  • Ensuring there is active participation in IRIS from the Construction Team and provide coaching and support where required to team members
  • Prepare a project mobilisation plan based on the Construction Offshore Mobilisation Strategy to ensure project readiness prior to mobilisation offshore
  • Lead Scope overviews, plan project training and coaching prior to mobilisation offshore
  • Support onshore personnel logistic is build the offshore rota (bedding plan) to ensure there is a smooth crew change throughout the project, discipline mobilisation and demobilisation must be smooth enabling all disciplines to continue working during crew changes
  • Manage holiday requests in conjunction with the Senior Construction Manager
  • Conduct Performance reviews for offshore team
Skills / Qualifications

Has held a similar position previously.

Qualifications:

Relevant Trade registrations/vocational qualifications in their chosen discipline

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Capable of providing coaching and guidance to the offshore teams thus ensuring a quality product is delivered by the project
  • Hascome from a Construction Background and/or Project Engineering background
  • Hasa broad knowledge of construction, fabrication, and inspection techniques
  • Workingknowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards
  • Holdsall current offshore certification including survival and medical certificate and able to work offshore on a 3 x 3 rotation

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within a project team
  • Ability to be well organised and able to work on own initiative
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Commitment to identify, analyse and propose solutions to problems in a constructive and positive manner
