Role Overview:



The Design Coordinator will be responsible for managing the workflow from design development to project completion, ensuring that designs are fully coordinated and aligned with the project's technical and compliance requirements. This role requires the effective management of design changes through Procore, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between all relevant disciplines to meet the construction programme's needs.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and coordinate regular Design Team Meetings, ensuring all disciplines are aligned and design progress is consistently tracked. Manage design development through various RIBA Plan of Work stages, ensuring timely progression to meet project deadlines. Monitor and sequence design flow to align with the construction programme, as directed by the Project Director and Project Manager. Oversee the implementation and management of design changes through Procore (Amspec's Project Management Software Platform), ensuring accurate documentation and seamless communication with all stakeholders. Ensure designs are fully coordinated across architectural, structural, MEP, and other relevant disciplines to meet compliance and technical standards. Act as the primary point of contact for design-related queries, clarifications, and updates, providing prompt resolutions to issues. Prepare, manage, and maintain comprehensive design coordination schedules and trackers to monitor progress and ensure accountability. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and other team members to integrate design requirements into the overall construction plan. Review and assess design deliverables to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and company standards. Facilitate and coordinate the approval process for design documents and drawings, ensuring timely submissions to statutory authorities where required. Liaise with Amspec Manufacturing Team (Production Manager and Solid Works Joinery Designers) to ensure Project designs and lead times are being met. Implement design quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of accuracy and completeness. Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and senior leadership team on design progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:



Degree or higher education certificate in Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience in a design coordination role within the construction and fit-out industry. Familiarity with RIBA Plan of Work stages and proficiency in using IT systems for design management. Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple design packages simultaneously. Knowledge of technical and compliance requirements in construction projects. Proficiency in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) is advantageous.

This is a full-time position to commence as soon as possible. Excellent competitive salary on offer, negotiable dependent upon experience. Hours of work 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Office based role, although you will be required to visit sites within the Northwest (Flexible working is available, but must suit the needs of the business).
