Aarsleff Ground Engineering Plant Department has an opportunity for an apprentice to join our team. The role will support the maintenance facility through the upkeep, servicing and development of current and new plant and equipment.
Main Duties:
As an Apprentice Plant Fitter you will have a high-level technical ability and a passion for fixing things
.o You will learn how to service and repair machines and equipment, including replacing parts and checking and calibrating instruments.
You will support in conducting inspections and perform routine servicing and maintenance to equipment, as well as carry out repairs. You will learn a diverse blend of skills, industry underpinning knowledge and the disciplines required for environmental and safe working practice.
You will support in responding to breakdowns as required and liaise with the internal functions to support in ensuring a successful introduction and implementation of new / purchased production equipment.
You will help to reduce reactive maintenance where possible by utilising and updating the Maint Master system.
To carry out such other duties as reasonably directed by your Supervisor.
Person Specification: Candidates will be considered who can demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team but also take on responsibility to work with minimum supervision. Health and safety for themselves and others should always be there first thought when at work. A good communicator with enthusiasm for the role.
Qualifications and Experience:The ideal candidate will have achieved four GCSEs, including two in English and Maths (Grade Four/ C or above or equivalent).
