Non-Contentious Construction Senior / Principal Associate | 4-10 PQE | Large National Law Firm | Birmingham/Hybrid Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits Working Hours: Full-time Contract Type: Permanent The Opportunity A highly regarded national law firm is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Associate into its thriving non-contentious construction team. Known for its work on some of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure and development projects, the firm offers a chance to work alongside industry-leading partners and a broad, high-calibre client base that includes logistics developers, real estate funds, data centres, funders, and infrastructure operators. The Role You'll be advising on complex, high-value non-contentious construction matters across: Development and infrastructure projects Real estate and corporate transactions Property finance Process plant and power generation contracts Working directly with clients and playing a central role in relationship management, you'll also contribute to mentoring and supervising more junior team members across the national practice. Key responsibilities include: Drafting and negotiating standard form contracts (JCT, NEC) and bespoke agreements Advising on procurement strategy, risk mitigation, and project delivery Supporting high-value transactional work alongside corporate and real estate teams Working closely with a partner-led team that includes ex-in-house lawyers from major construction businesses While this is a predominantly non-contentious role, there is flexibility for candidates who are keen to maintain some involvement in contentious work. About You You will be a qualified solicitor (UK or foreign qualified with at least one year of experience in the UK market) with: A strong background in non-contentious construction law, ideally from a recognised national, international or respected boutique practice Proven experience working with JCT, NEC and similar standard form contracts The ability to manage client relationships independently and confidently Strong commercial acumen and a collaborative mindset Why Apply?
