We have a fantastic opportunity for a Construction Logistics Coordinator to join our Commercial & Industrial Division, based at our offices in Dalton, Thirsk.
Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the

Vacancy Details
In the Construction Logistics Coordinator position you will be repsonsible for ensuring all tools and equipment are ordered accurately, cost-effectively, and delivered to site on time. This includes determining whether equipment should be purchased or hired, tracking equipment across projects for return or off-hire, and raising orders for purchased or hired tools. The role also involves generating monthly hire, purchase, and budget reports to keep costs to a minimum.
Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Source and hire equipment, check costs, and determine the most cost-effective option (hire vs purchase).
Pre-authorise invoices and generate monthly hire and budget reports.
Raise purchase orders for new equipment and coordinate owed equipment between divisions.
Complete administrative tasks and daily operations within the construction department.
Source and onboard new suppliers in collaboration with the Procurement team.
Arrange training for construction operatives and maintain accurate training matrices.
Coordinate flights, accommodation, and car hire for operatives working abroad with the Travel Department.
Collate information for visas and work permits for operatives working internationally.
Monitor the Donseed system and liaise with the account manager to ensure functionality.
Manage the construction fleet daily, ensuring compliance with Lex systems and policies.
Key Skills & experience
Previous experience in a coordinator role within construction.
Solid administrative background in construction.
In-depth knowledge of construction equipment and ability to source cost-effective alternatives.
Build positive relationships and address issues constructively with internal teams and external partners.
Excellent planning and coordination skills
Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
