Job Title: Construction Manager Location: Sellafield Site Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract (Inside IR35) Pay Rate: Negotiable Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team on the Sellafield site. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of construction activities in a highly regulated nuclear environment. Key Responsibilities
Provide construction expertise and input during constructability reviews and HAZOP/HAZCON assessments.
Deliver fit-for-purpose construction work scope aligned with project strategy and plan, meeting or exceeding baseline cost and schedule requirements without compromising safety or quality.
Conduct risk management exercises and embed outputs into construction work scope.
Perform readiness reviews to confirm project start-up readiness, ensuring resources, procurement, and equipment are in place.
Drive a proactive approach to nuclear safety and optimize safety performance on-site.
Manage quality throughout construction activities to enable timely completion of STC processes.
Prepare, review, and approve key documents for construction delivery.
Ensure compliance with TDA process 33, CDM regulations, and tendering requirements.
Maintain day-to-day interaction with PM/PE to minimize program risks.
Track and report NPT to mitigate future project risks.
Develop SQEP discipline personnel and lead subcontractor engagement and instruction.
Lead and develop the team to improve efficiency in construction delivery.
Accept, reject, or implement corrections to construction work.
Manage acceptance of pre-construction information ensuring CDM and task-specific requirements are met.
Essential Criteria
IOSH Managing Safely certification.
NVQ Level 6 Construction Management Qualification.
Manager Health & Safety Test CSCS Card.
Discipline-specific professional qualification.
P4 Pass Holder.
SC (Security Check) Clearance as a minimum.
Monitored Worker status.
Additional Information
This is a contract role inside IR35.
Nuclear experience and strong leadership skills are essential.
